Some stuff about me...

Who?

By now you may have guessed my name. If not, look, we really need to talk...

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, I was always fascinated even from a young age by design, brands, media, & advertising, and originally trained to be a Graphic Designer. To date my career has delved into; People & Account Management, Design & Media Marketing, I.T, & Training. With the majority of these roles being in their web based environments.

Communication has always been the backbone of all that I do, and that I enjoy, so is arguably my key skill. Throughout every job, interacting with people at every level, even whilst producing or coaching others on how to communicate effectively. Nothing beats, simple, clear, good communication. Obviously, there are lots of ways to communicate but the focus I have is on predominantly digital communication, whether by web site, email or other source.

The saying is true, people are people wherever you go, it's just how you communicate with them that makes the difference. I've worked with some very large blue chip companies and some smaller, family based firms, the experiences of both, has been invaluable. I'm a great believer in people with real experience. While I posses plenty of certification and qualifications, frankly, all the labels, badges, and degrees in the world I believe, cant beat people with experience.

As an employer, if your interested in what I, and my experience can offer, simply want to know more, or receive a resume, just get in touch. Contact details are available on the top right hand side of this page.

The other stuff

I've been very fortunate to have traveled extensively and continue to do so regularly. Whilst I've lived the majority of my life in the United Kingdom, I've always longed to be elsewhere. And as of September 2007, the longing was over as my wife & I moved to Melbourne, Australia.

I also spend a lot of my life in front of screens. During all my time at work, or whilst watching movies, tv or the odd game, and of course, on the web. I'm an ex professional DJ [truth be told I was never that good, and the hours & travel ain't fun] and still love music heavily. Whilst the web, I.T. & music take up a huge chunk of my personal time, I'm a bit of a geek and love some Sci-Fi, and am pretty nuts about bits of Star Wars. Nothing wrong with being a big kid at heart in my book.

Of course there's more, but lets save that for another day. If your really interested/bored, ask a question. I wont bite.

This site

Is authored & developed by me. I've had so many iterations, have read so many books, tutorials, and of course been inspired by so many greats on the web, it's hard to say this is all me. However I'm continually trying to make improvements and simplify it where I can. I'd welcome any input on the site, it's by no means perfect and I'm always open to criticism. Legal yada yada

If you mail me, I wont sell your email. Relax, I think we all get enough offers of magic pills, 'enhancers' and other silly stuff without me making it worse. Please do the same with my details, or I'll come round and tell your mum.
