Picture this.
The first image on the web was a bit of an unspectacular, pretty lame debut. Thankfully things have progressed & we've had many differing, & somewhat convoluted ways of getting images on the web.
As usual, simplicity wins.
I could have used some fancier, more complex methods to show photographic work by using sites & tools such as Awesome box, BritePic or one of the many others out there. However, free, quick & simple wins every time.
And that's what the, arguably two, largest victors of the online photo sharing/storage sites have to offer.

Owned by Google, this is without a doubt for many the simplest and easiest way to manage, arrange, touch up & upload photo's using their excellent free software. Now with free online storage and ever improving features, this truly is the champ in many ways. One thing not yet there with Picasa is the community interaction that Flickr offers...but you'll find all my photography up there as so quick and easy to use.

The media darling of the Web 2.0 internet [r]evolution, has no off-line photo manager, and whilst cumbersome to upload, it does have the all important community. I only use this as a kind of web scrapbook, but even at that, no blog or personal site would be deemed worth it, it seems these days, if you didn't have your Flickr photo stream somewhere. [I wont disappoint]. The community is huge, with many different groups. Some unfortunately a little snooty & elitist, but mostly a great site.
